NEJATC's
goal is to provide the highest
quality training to those interested
in a career
in the various fields within the
electrical industry. The NEJATC trains
apprentices to become Inside Journeymen
Wiremen. Inside Journeymen Wiremen
are electrical workers who install
the power, lighting, controls and other
electrical equipment in commercial
and industrial buildings. For additional

In
addition
to
receiving
skill
training
on
the
job,
our
apprentices
are
provided
trade
related
classroom
training
that
produces
competency
and
pride
that
lead
to
true
craftsmanship.
Quite
often
some
local
training
committees
provide
special
classes
with
hands-on
training
to
support
classroom
lectures
and
discussions.

How Can I Become An Apprentice?
The basic requirements for becoming an apprentice in
the Nashville Electrical J.A.T.C. program are as follows:
1. |
Must
be a minimum of 18 years of age at selection |
2. |
Must
have a high school diploma or a GED |
3. |
Must
have completed one credit of high school
algebra with a passing grade or the equivalent
(i.e.: high school Tech Math 1 and 2) or
one post high school algebra class with a
passing grade |
4. |
Must
take the A.I.R. aptitude test and receive
a qualifying score |
5. |
Must
possess a valid driver’s license |
6. |
An
application for the apprenticeship program
must be filled out and returned to the NEJATC
office with a $20.00 application fee payable
with a money order or a cashier’s check |
7. |
Must
submit to the NEJATC office official transcripts
showing the above required information |
