Preparing For The Interview

Once you receive a qualifying score of 4 or higher on the aptitude test, you will be scheduled for an interview with our committee.

Most interviews last 10 to 20 minutes.

Before you arrive, we ask that you review the policy statement which can be found here.

Policy Statement

Interview Tips

  • Don't spend too much time on a question.
  • When asked about your previous experience, describe the situation you encountered, what you did in that situation and how it turned out.
  • Focus on the questions that the committee asks. Avoid irrelevant topics.
  • Speak loud and clear.
  • Relax. The interview is not an interrogation. It is an opportunity for you to meet and speak with the Apprenticeship Committee.

The interview will be a series of questions about how you have handled situations in your life that are relevant to your success in the apprenticeship.

They will want to know the situation, what you did, and the result.

These situations can be from work, school or at home.

The interview team usually consists of all 6 committee members. Each committee member will take turns asking you a question during your interview.
